Sketch My Story: Sharing Through the Art of Sketching

In the spring of 2021, A4Art collaborated with Haven and our sponsor First Security Bank to create 80 specialized age-appropriate sketch kits for Haven clients. The kits included drawing materials, visual literacy resources, and prompts and ideas tailored to specific age groups per the national and state standards for visual arts education. The project provided an opportunity for children whose lives may have been negatively impacted by Covid and other associated economic and social factors to connect to community, history, and world cultures. This was our pilot sketchbook project; we are planning future iterations for 2022. For more information about the sketchbook project or to become a sponsor, please email

Our Town: A Panoramic Community Collage

On Saturday, January 25th, 2020, members of the Bozeman community gathered for a free art-making event at the Story Mansion in Bozeman. Forty-two people ages 4-74 gathered to make a 45-foot paper collage inside the historic mansion. A4Art taught an elementary-level visual arts lesson rooted in National Arts Standards. Participants took what they learned and created a colorful collage of architecture and art in the community. Thank you to the Gallatin Valley Mall for displaying the finished project. This event was made possible by Advocates for Visual Arts Education, the Friends of the Story Mansion, and the Bozeman Parks and Recreation Department.
